Description
TSF vintage radio WIFI - High Fidelity sound
A highly sought-after Art Deco radio equipped with a 100W class-D amplifier, combining a 80W 12 cm Woofer with a 20W silk dome tweeter (the original loudspeaker had a power of 1W!). It meets the criteria of our high-fidelity range: upgraded to a multi-channel loudspeaker, its drivers and crossovers have been sized according to the unit's cabinet to get the best out of it.
A digital filtering allows to obtain a very flat response curve, for a very balanced high-fidelity sound. Particular attention has been paid to the bass: the bass is dynamic (its level is increased at low volume) and a switch activates the Superbass function to give more weight to the bass according to the taste of the listener and the type of music.

The device also features noise filters to suppress electronic noise from the WIFI card and electrical activity in the room.

Its WIFI module will allow you to stream audio from music platforms and radio stations with much better sound quality than Bluetooth. Technical possibilities are rapidly evolving and we are dedicated to making our vintage devices effective tools to take advantage of them!

WIFI connectivity also opens up the possibility of synchronous wireless streaming to multiple devices (multi-room). If you buy a second device (radio, WIFI record player or WIFI speaker), one could play the left track and the other the right, or one could play your music in the living room and the other in the kitchen. We also sell a WIFI adaptor that converts your audio system into a WIFI speaker via a simple jack plug.

The device is also equipped with a Bluetooth connectivity to broadcast tracks stored on your phone (MP3 ...) or sound directly from the Internet (Youtube ...).

History of the radio
The Surcouf is the most sought after vintage French radio, specially with a green bakelite front like this one.
The first models (with the knob controls), made until 1955, are even harder to find!
Océanic was founded in Paris in 1937 by Roger Toutain, he was able to produce only one model of radio before the outbreak of the war and did not resume the activity until 1949. In the early 1950s, Paris was the world capital of Art Deco design, and this was reflected in all elements of interior design. In 1953, Oceanic had the idea of developing Art Deco models on the theme of the sea, and the success was instantaneous, and the production continued until 1966. Then the brand started to produce televisions and the first 'flat' screens. These "sea" radios are now very sought after by collectors.
Oceanic named all its radios after 1953 with marine names and the Surcouf was no exception, named after the famous French pirate Robert Surcouf, who died in 1827.
