Description

WIFI vintage Record-Player!

Upcycled into a custom 2-way connected speaker, this device is part of our High Fidelity range. It contains a 80W class D amplifier combined with a 12cm 60W woofer and a 20W tweeter (the original speaker had a power of 1W!). A digital filtering allows to obtain a very flat response curve, for a very balanced high-fidelity sound. Particular attention has been paid to the bass: the bass is dynamic (its level is increased at low volume) and a switch activates the Superbass function to give more weight to the bass according to the taste of the listener and the type of music.

The device also features noise filters to suppress electronic noise from the WIFI card and electrical activity in the room.

On the rear panel, knobs allow you to adjust the tone to correct the quality losses of aged vinyls.

This device can be used as a "simple" record player with a very good sound: turn it on, start the rotation of the turntable, place the sapphire on your vinyl record and enjoy the music.

Flip the back switch and turn it into a WIFI and Bluetooth connected speaker. You'll be able to use your phone or tablet to play your playlists, your favorite music platform and any radio or web radio stations and their podcasts.

Moreover, in this mode, the signal of the turntable is digitized and transmitted to the WIFI module. Our system allows you to broadcast your vinyl records to other WIFI speakers in a synchronous way! This makes this antique one of the most advanced record players in the world (more information below: multiroom systems).

The device also features Bluetooth connectivity for streaming sound directly from the web (Youtube...).

Vinyl Turntable

is the rebuilt 1956 original Teppaz with a restored motor, new needle and cartridge, new original drive wheel. It can play 33, 45 and 78 rpm and accepts all sizes up to the 12 1/4 inch 78 rpm, the largest ever made. The cartridge is designed to read both tracks of a stereo record and combine them in one output signal. The swivel cartridge contains two universal sapphire needles and allows the playback of modern recordings.

History of the radio

This device is to record players what the SNR Excelsior 55 is to TSF radios: the rarest and the most sought after!

Océanic was founded in Paris in 1937 by Roger Toutain, he was able to produce only one model of radio before the outbreak of the war and did not resume the activity until 1949. In the early 1950s, Paris was the world capital of Art Deco design, and this was reflected in all elements of interior design. In 1953, Oceanic had the idea of developing Art Deco models on the theme of the sea, and the success was instantaneous, and the production continued until 1966. Then the brand started to produce televisions and the first 'flat' screens. These "sea" radios are now very sought after by collectors.

Oceanic named all its radios after 1953 with marine names and the Surcouf was no exception, named after the famous French pirate Robert Surcouf, who died in 1827.

Teppaz was founded in 1931, it was the first French brand to market a 78 rpm turntable in 1941, and remained the main turntable manufacturer until the 1970s. The brand specialized in portable record players, amplifiers, speakers and telephones. Teppaz was bought in 1988 by J-C. Sensamat, president of the company of the same name with the ambition to continue the audio lines of the brand. The company still exists, but seems to be limited to import-export, we have not found any reference to their audio systems.
